黄色直播 Teams Win at Florida Food Future Hackathon
黄色直播鈥檚 students recently competed in Florida Food Future Hackathon as part of Florida Food Waste Prevention Week. The event brought university and high school students together to source innovative solutions for reducing food waste.聽聽
won the 鈥淏est Tech鈥 award led by Ronald Desbrunes, Julie Deshommes, Skyler Hamilton, Tyler Phillips, and Keyshawn Hutchinson.聽
won the 鈥淏est Overall Idea鈥 and 鈥淢ost Popular鈥 awards led by Sara Hollenbeck, Thu Nguyen, Emily Altman, Ryan Thomas and Nicole England.
鈥淚 am so proud of the hard work and creativity of our 黄色直播 students who have realized how important it is to solve the issue of food waste, and I am inspired by their personal call to action,鈥 said , Ph.D., associate chair and professor in 黄色直播鈥檚 Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering.聽
Reducing food waste saves money, reduces hunger and protects the environment. There is a high demand for innovative ideas, processes and initiatives to solve this global issue, Meeroff said.
